Ok so some low life decided to try to break into my cherokee last night. Luckily they didn't get in, how ever in the proccess they managed to completely destroy my drivers side door lock. So my question is, do I have to replace all the locks or is it possible to just replace that one and have it match my key? Also, where do I purchase such an item, is this a dealer only part? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Can you post pics of the damage? I would just grab a tumbler from the parts yard and take it to a lock smith. They should be able to match it to your key. My post in the link above explains how to remove the tumbler (without prying it off). Let me know if you have any questions...

What about swapping the passengers lock with the drivers? I have done this several times on GM vehicles when the lock has worn out. Upside= no cost but time, down side = you can't unlock the passengers side. I rarely use that lock anyway.

Hey thanks for the pics. It almost looks like they took a cordless drill to your tumbler. At least they didn't fawk up the sheet metal...

well there was a couple pieces that were pulled out, but I cut them off just so no one walking by would notice and try to finish the job before I get it fixed. My friend had his Super Duty broke into the same way about a year ago and they did mess up his door too, so I guess I am lucky that that did't happen to me too.
