JamesT and I will be doing my 8.8 this weekend and I just realized about 10 minutes ago that I'm going to need adustable control arms to dial in my pinion angle in the rear. Do I really need lowers and uppers? I assume I can get what I need with just the uppers? I understand this could ultimately affect my wheelbase but since we're welding on the brackets we should be able to get the pinion angle in the ballpark so little adjustment should be nesessary.
If I only get one set of control arms I was thinking about just getting the uppers. I'm thinking if I were to choose between the uppers and lowers that the uppers would give me the most bang for the buck. What do you think?
Simon, can you PM me a price on RE Superflex adjustable control arms for the rear?
Thanks

Just get the uppers,
you should get enough adjustment out of that to get you down the road but deffinately get lowers to really dial it in later and get your wheelbase back!
My opinion only...:)

You want adjustable uppers for rear pinion angle adjustment.

Cool, thanks guys... and Stu, we're going to go off your measurements when we set this up. :) Actually if I remember correctly aren't they measurements from someone that you know that did the swap?

The measurements on the write-up from Stu's site work really well. I used them and mine fits great!

Bill, what did you use for e-brake cables? did you use the ones from a ZJ? I'm going to pick up ZJ ones during lunch today probably.

Yep, ZJ cables worked great for me.

When I did mine, since my 8.8 had drums (out of a 91) my ebrake cable fit perfectly into the 8.8, no need for a different cable. If you have a newer disc set up not sure if it is needed then.
I only used the adjustable uppers and it lined up great.

That's correct. Mine is a later axle w/discs, so I had to use the ZJ cables.

Cool, great. I have the part numbers for the ZJ cables from Stu's site... I'll be picking up a pair tomorrow.... as well as seeing if I can get these rusty brakes turned and getting some new hard lines as one of the existing ones is pinched...busy, busy.

How much adjustment in length can you get out of a set of upper/lower control arms?
