Hi,

Im Brian Harmon from Flagstaff....there is not much for us up here There is
Borken Arrow in Sedona....and Smasher canyon in Cottonwood......Not much in
the way of really tough trails....the cinder lakes OHV area and thats about
it.....we usually go south to TAble mesa area around Black CAnyon City or
farther south to Florence junction below Phoenix....

There are some nice scenic roads but most are closed ths time of year...If
you want good wheelin, you have to follow the birds and go south.

I understand what you are saying, but my experience has been that most
shops are not equipped to align a vehicle with 35"+ tires. *shrug*

Couldn't you barrow some smaller tires (careful don't want to look
like a low rider with a lift! LOL) get your Jeep's suspension aligned
then put your swampers back on? Might get a better deal and the shop?
I think this will work unless your tires are on the wheel crooked. JK

There's no magic to alignment on a live front axle. Toe In is really all
you're looking at. It's an easy do it your self job. All you need is 2 spare
rims that are true...a good tape measure (that has 1/16 inch marks) and an
open end wrench for the tie rod.

Very little toe in is called for. I set mine at 1/16" toe-ed in (front of
rim measurement shorter than back of rim measurement).

That's what I ended up doing on mine...I think I might have had closer
to an 1/8" toe though...

I also had to fool with the CASTER (I think) with degree wedges due to
my lift springs doing some funky things. I actually had to experiment a
little with that to get it right.

P.S. this was on a solid axle all leaf Suburban BTW, so things were a
bit different than on a jeep.

Well assuming you have a sport bar your best bet is to weld in a cross bar behind the seat to mount them to.

Over the last week I found two small tears in my soft top. I have put a

I have a 97 with a black soft top, soft upper doors and would like to
replace it with black and tinted windows if possible. I might also be
interested in getting the tonneau cover, wind jammer and bikini or safari

I would NOT buy Steel Horse!! If you are going to buy a new soft top,
I would look at the Bestop replace a top with the tinted windows. I
have a Bestop Safari top with Windjammer and Tonneu cover, and it is
pretty good until it rains!! :) There are gaps between the doors and
the windjammer, so it is not air or water proof. It is great in the
winter to keep the cold off you, but wont work well with AC, or to
keep rain out! I think they all work great, I just put my top on when
its rainy (once a year), otherwise I use the safari and tonneu.

I think it goes without saying.... Stay away from Steel Horse.

I'd personally stick with a Bestop products. Bestop is the same
company that manufactures the factory tops. However, because of
contractual reasons, they can't sell the exact "factory" top directly.

You might want to look into Bestop's new "sailcloth" 4 layer tops.
According to their ads, they're actually quieter than the factory hard
tops. It's the same material as the 2001 soft tops. I'd imagine you
could get just the soft cloth and not have to worry about the hardware
and everything else.

If you're (or anyone else is) interested, I've got my factory dark tan
top for sale (off a '99 TJ). I'm asking $350 for it. It includes all
the hardware needed (even if you don't currently have a soft top).

You might even want to check e-bay. There are usually a few good used
tops on there.

It's not my Jeep, but a guy I work with just mentioned that he wants
to sell his 2000 TJ. I don't know all the details, but I can ask him
questions or give you his e-mail address if you're interested.

Here's what I know about it:

2000 TJ Sport
Solar Yellow
Approximately 12K miles
Black soft top/half doors
Everything's stock except he's added some black nerfs (Westin)
I believe he has the D35 in the rear

That's all I know off-hand. Sorry, I didn't ask him how much he was
selling it for. But, I told him I'd see if there was any interest.

Contact me if you're interested and I'll send your info on to him.
