Would a TJ D30 carrier fit in a D30 for a CJ5? If so I need it.

From what I've read on the various internet forums they are not worth the money. They help you produce more power in the upper RPM's which is rarely used by a Jeep. Many of those that posted remarks actually removed the chip after it caused some problems. Do a search on www.Deja.com in the rec.autos.makers.jeep+willys newsgroup and you'll find plenty of archived postings.

I'm not sure there that all worth the money. From a horsepower
standpoint, if the chip does anything, it really only helps you on
the road, unless your plowing through mud. Here in AZ, obviously
there isn't much mud, and most of our wheeling is on rocks, where
torque is a bigger advantage than horsepower. Second, having more
horsepower equals more stress on the drivetrain, which usually equals
more breakage. That's what I think, unless I'm wrong. JET told me
that the module is about $300 and good for 13-14 horsepower, but I
don't know the test conditions, and would probably want to drive a
jeep set up exactly like mine with and without it before I would
consider one, which probably won't happen. If you put one of these
in, and it screws your computer, if you have a warranty, the damage
probably won't be covered. Then again, I have zero experience with
one, so it's just my opinion.

Subject: Raw Deal question??

I've been up there to the trails and am wondering which of these
trails is Raw Deal. When the road becomes dirt there is a trail that
starts off to the left almost right away and is very narrow. Is this
the beginning because the directions in the sight say take a left
just before the first "Y". I've been told that Raw Deal is really
wide. Where does the trail start and what trail is this at the
beginning? By the way, a few of us are running it on Sun. if anyone
wants to join us.

As you head west on Table Mesa Rd. you will come to the first parking
area on the left. This is where everyone usually meets to air down. Go about
a half mile past this spot and you will cross a wash ( it is tunneled under
the main road so do not look for a dip) that goes off to the left follow
this wash and it will lead you to Raw Deal. Just drop off into the wash you
can take the next left in the road and the trail runs back into the same
wash area also. Hope this helps. If you have a GPS I can send you the file
with my tracks.

Hello All,

This is an automated message from the website, please do not reply to it!

Dan Coley is leading a Woodpecker (Upper) trail run on Saturday, February 17, 2001.

When: 9am
Where: Texaco gas station, junction US60/SR-79
Rating: 4.0+
Length: 4-6 hours? (I really don't know)
CB Channel: 4

Rick Norman, Tara and I will be running Upper Woodpecker. I've never run it but want too, and Rick said he would lead. If it doesn't work out that Rick can go, Tara and I will go, but you would have to deal with me not knowing the exact location, although I have a pretty good idea.

Upper Woodpecker is a wash that runs to the Woodpecker Mine. Years ago this wash was the actual road from the mine. There have been many hours of fun playing and traversing on this trail. It offers rock ledges, cracks, "tippy spots" and is the home of the infamous "Fire Hole". It was one of the first "extreme" trails offered in Arizona.

Over the years this trail has seen the result of "rock stacking" and "ramp building" that has down rated the trail from a 4.5 to a 4.0 but it still has a number of "play areas" and lockers are still required for the harder portion of the trail.

Upon exiting the wash you will climb to the top of the hill where the mine is located. There is an amethyst pit mine near the entrance to the Woodpecker Mine where you will most likely find several "rock hounds" or mountain bikers.

Don't forget your lunch and water. This is one of the longer trails and is normally an all day trip.

Enjoy and remember to TREAD Lightly!

Actaully what you see to the left is just a trail, howver the outlet of raw deal meets with this trail... Once you hit dirt road, you goa little ways, you pass two clearings, and as you said just before you hit the first major 'Y' there is what apears to be a wash just to the left, it does not look like a trail.. You go down that, as you follow it it turns right and then you follow it left around the mountain, as you turn left is where the motorcycle is.. You head east and follow it south untilyou hit the 'Y' for upper and lower.. Left is easier, right is harder.. If you go right it will join back up with the left trail.. If you go left it follows a wash and you can exit at just about any right hand turn up and out of the wash..then follow the trail back to the main road..

JUST ONE SUGGESTION.....DO NOT!!!! UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TAKE IT TO 'CASA GRANDE TRANSMISSIONS' IN CASAGRANDE (DUH)!!!!!!!
He rebuilt a tranny for me a year ago, and it STILL isn't right, infact, it's spending the weekend at AAA being rebuilt by someone who knows what they are doing!
just my two cents!

What vehicle do you have? If it is an older CJ, check to see if the control
cable is still moving the flapper. If a newer vehicle, check the dash controls.
Does the system work on vacuum? May not be turning on the water valve.
