Greg,
The light will only come on when the failure is happening, so this may be normal. The light does not need to come on at that drive cycle to retrieve the codes. The code should be stored in the history memory. Disconnecting the battery will erase the memory, if the light came back on after that it means the there is still a failure happening but not at all times.
I would recommend trying to retrieve the codes and go from there.

Odd turn of events, I did disconnect the battery last night, but when my wife drove to school today it still came on.. When I got off work I decided to drive across town to my recruiters office, 1. to give him some paperwork, and 2. to try and get the codes.. But the light did not come on? I thought this was wierd but I will take it.. is this normal, should I be more concerned?

This will cause the light to flash a code. When the light flashes count the flashes, the code will come out in a two digits. The first flashes will be the first digit then a one second pause then the second set. There will be a three second pause between codes and then it will repeat are flash a second code if there is one.

Thank you to all who advised with my problem.. At this point I believe I will just keep an eye on it and see what happens.. If by chance it does come back on I will get the codes and go from there.. I also have a buddy who owns a shop on 7th ave and just south of camelback, he said he would do the diagnostic for free so if it does come back I am waiting with the hammer back.. Again thanks all.. See you on the trail soon..

understand, this is just one of the weak links in the 35 axle. I have also
been told BY POWER-TRAX that IF you do break one you should check the
straightness of the axle tubes scince they are known to bend and this COULD
cause the problem...BUT on the lighter side dan, I am sure that the locker
was just designed for getting over curbs in the mall parking lot...:) (I

Mike,
Just so ya know, I once climbed up and over that waterfall with my
friend (and yours) Brian. After we got on top the stream runs through some
woods for 1/4 - 1/2 mile at which point we reached a mine camp of some
sort(at the time it was not abandoned). There were several vehicles (a
couple half buried and very old) one bulldozer, and a camper trailer sitting
under an open style garage probably 40 ft wide. The intresting part of this
is that a month or so after we found this place the film "The Getaway" came
out. In this movie Alec Baldwin and his wife Kim Basinger are getting away,
in one scene Alec shoots Michael Madsen at this same place, (no ****) then he
falls into the water that is the stream that becomes the water fall you guys
are talking about. So basically, if you want to see what is up there, rent
"the Getaway".

Just about every one of them is running an Atlas and an Auto.. So much for
drum brakes! Guess if you are gonna run the 4.3, you need to step up to the
plate with 4 wheel discs.... ohhh darn it!!! (BTW, do 2 feet fit on the
brake pedal when going downhill?)
Sometimes it's easier to go with the flow, rather than fighting things you
can't control... I'm sure if you can afford $2000.00 + for an Atlas II, an
extra $400.00 or whatever for discs wont Bankrupt you.

Thanks for your post. I've been looking for a poly mount. The stock rubber
ones just don't hold up. I found it in the new catalog....it says it's for a
TJ, but the pic is of a YJ style mount. I'll give them a call to clarify.

OK - I called and it's the 4 stud TJ mount in poly. Comes in designer
colors...but I ordered black.
Thanks again for the heads up.

I have a rear 44 with 11" drums in my YJ and I'm about to swap in a front
Waggy 44. My brakes are already kind of lame - too much pedal. Once I
swap in the front 44 (Waggy), will my brakes get even worse? Do I need to
upgrade my master cylinder and/or booster? If so, what do I swap to?

Greg,
The light will only come on when the failure is happening, so this may be normal.

I also have a buddy who owns a shop on 7th ave and just south of camelback, he said he would do the diagnostic for free so if it does come back I am waiting with the hammer back.. Again thanks all.. See you on the trail soon..

Mike,
Just so ya know, I once climbed up and over that waterfall with my
friend (and yours) Brian.

Well, golly Gee Whiz, I guess those ARCA boys are all wet......
