The Atlas won't help with your gearing w/ larger tires on the road, since
it's a 1:1 in high range. It will help you a bunch in low range. That, plus
ultimate control of your axles....plus it's very strong.

Because your vehicle is lifted and has larger tires, Jeep cannot warranty your bad oxygen sensor. At least that will be their excuse.....

It comes on around 82.5k miles to indicate that the emissions systems
require inspection. Chances are the O2 sensor is failing.

Yes they can go bad this early. No they are not hard to replace. And
it might fix the Check engine Light. It could also be Plug wires,
plugs, a vacume leak or any number of things that cause a slight miss.

Mud springs is a bit more than a 3.5. It is really a 4.0. There are some
neat off-camber sections and an interesting rock garden going downhill that
you have to climb back up going back out of the trail.

Any other opinions? Maybe I'm wrong.

how many miles do you have on it. The light comes on at a predetermined
mileage. I think like somewhere around 80,000. They will reset it at the
dealer for about $70.00 dollars. I simply took the light bulb out. No
problems for the last 40,000 after that.

I have heard that the check engine light will just come on at a
predetermined mileage to remind you to change the O2 sensor. My
Sister-in-laws ZJ's came on right at 60,000 and the dealer reset
it. My ZJ went through 60,000 without a light coming on....
Don't know for sure, but maybe something to think about.
I do know that they can come on and have to be hooked to the
dealer's computer for a reset.
Does the TJ respond to turning the ignition on 3 times in 5
seconds to get the fault codes to come out of the computer as in
the ZJ? Might look into something like that too.
Hope this gives somewhere for you to look,
Ralph

What year and model of Jeep?

The check engine light comes on for a reason. It could be a failed sensor,
an engine miss or an emission failer. It should be checked to at least see
what it is.
I could be as simple as the gas cap is loose. this all depends on the
vehical. I newer Jeep like the TJ's have an ODB2 system that moniters almost
all systems.

Subject: LU - Scottsdale petition and map help - Coves closure

Hi all

I'm a little bit surprised by the lack of comments on the list regarding the
land use meeting in Snottsdale on Thursday. I'll be posting a small novel
later this evening with some (lots of?) thoughts, proposals, and questions.

For now, I need help from some of the more map oriented folks out there.
After looking over the State Land Dept website
http://www.land.state.az.us/ ) ,the map appearing in todays AZ Republic,
and my limited collection of maps, it appears to me that the proposed
closure areas center around Granite Mountain and possibly Seven Springs.
The Coves/Rolls rec area at Saguaro Lake was mentioned in the original
email, but if I'm reading things correctly (and I may not be) it appears
that the Coves are actually north and east of the proposed area and NOT
included.

Can someone help me clarify this?

thanks.....

Len

OK.....now I'm really confused. My Rand-McNally atlas shows Saguaro Lake to
be to the SOUTH east of the proposed area.....and also inside of the Tonto
National Forest. The State Land Dept refers to the Scottsdale petition as
the "Granite Mountain Area" and the map in the paper shows it to be to the
north west of McDowell Mountain Park.......Granite Mountain (according to
Rand McNally) is actually 12-15 miles west of the proposed area.

Maybe this map-dyslexia is why I end up making so many "unplanned
explorations"

Somebody please help......this is giving me a headache.

Len

I built this hand throttle a few weeks back. I have field-tested it and really works nicely. Total investment :$12.00 Stu Olson's website is full of do-it-yourself projects like this one.
