Hey Brian, are you total dedicated to an onboard

That is terrible. The tires are way too wide and tall. It needs those
35 series tires then it could come down 3 more inches.

Curious. when on the trail and going over smaller obstacles sometimes
it feels like the jeeps rear end kind of slides to the side a little.
it is feels weird because I know the tires didn't slide it just feels
like the body slid to the left or right on the axel.
My question is it the track bar doing this?
Is it a good thing?
If it is the TB is it a function of the style of lift I have? (93YJ

Here are some photos of the connectors on the TB.

Subject: [TR] Trip Report - Terminator (Upper) - Sunday, February 4, 2001
Hello All,
This is an automated message from the website, please do not reply to it!
Greg Stapley lead a trail run Sunday, February 4, 2001 across Terminator (Upper)
I know I am a little late, but as the saying goes, better late than never.. I am not a firm believer in this but what the hell..
After a very re****l night of sleeping under the stars, me and my Zuki buddy ( Jason ). Left the campsite at about 9:40 to meet with the othes.. As we rounded the last turn my mouth dropped in amazement..The entire meeting spot was filled with jeeps..Well except for Bill and his Bronco..I got out and started looking around, all the greats were present, Jim Florence, Dan Seigal, Dan coley ( with tera ) , and Jim, and the red Jeep, among others..Out of the corner of my eye I noticed Big Iron and a couple other Big rigs parked in the corner, obviously Dave was here, there goes the neighborhood..After mingling and trading war stories we decided to hit the trail.. The actual trail leaders name I am not sure of, But Jim ( Hackle ) was not far behind him and then me and the Zuk and the rest of the ever impressive train.. As we pulled to a stop at the first obstacle I sort of counted heads and the Bronc was missing. I was informed that he blew a tire before we even started down the hill. Broncs and the drivers never cease to amaze me. ( Bill Want A Jeep Yet? ) We hit the first obstacle and moved on, nothing fancy, just spinning tires and sparks and a fire.. O.K. no fire but there was some spinning tires. The first of the pack stopped up the trail and everyone races back to try their hand at spotting and shouting instructions..As we were scooting the Bronco through the obstacle two jeeps from up on the trail decided they to would try thier hand at embarassing a Ford..So the plot thickens.. A little farther down the trail I learned that leaving your jeep in the middle of the trail and going back to watch the fireworks, makes slow going for the rest of the tribe.. Live and learn.. The run was quite uneventful as of this far.. But that was soon to change.. Over the next obstacle the Bronc with a sagging 2 1/2 inch lift and a rear locker needs a little tug from Dan C's little 4 banger. And just a little more down the trail the Ford blows another tire, well this time he is in no place to stop, so he keeps the tires spinning. As he does we watch in awe at the right rear tire comes off the rim. He refuses to stop at an off camber spot and lets the sparks fly.. It was great he had to stop and change the tire in an off camber spot.. All who helped gladly offered suggestions and opinions.. Well in the end what it took was two High lift Jacks and a floor jack and a 2" X 4"..We risked life anlimb to get the bronc back on the trail, but it was back to full potential ( like that is saying much ).. As you know there was about 12 vehicles in all on our trip.. In the middle of the trial we met up with Ranger Dave and Dave and some others who I had not the chance to meet.. Ranger Dave gave us a nice show and rolled his rig twice in our company.. What a guy!We let them pass and with a wave of hands and a couple hand shakes we were again on our way up the run. It started to get tight about 3/4 of the way through and we had a hell of a time getting the ford through all the squeezes with about 7 different spotters telling him what to do.. Bill was a good sport about it and followed dilligently.. With a few new scars to explain to the Mrs. and son who now hangs his head in shame..LOL.. Anyway we get to the early out and the Bronc decides to call it a day..The Two jeeps that met up with us before ( the blue TJ and the White Wrangler ) as well decided to leave the group.. We said farewell and headed to finish the trail.. The rest of the trailwas uneventful save a few flexxing poses for the cameras.. With that we ran into the road. Thus ends our ordeal.. We rested for a moment, ate a few sandwiches and assesed our damages.. After that we decided to hit the air up spot.. I am unaware what happened at that point seeing as how Jason and I drove back to camp to pick up our mess.. All in all this was one of the best runs I have ever been on.. Mostly because of the turn out and the great people that ran with us.. We had no real damage and no injuries.. Huh wonder what went wrong.. In closing, thanks again to all who made it possible and hope to see you all soon, out on the trail of course.. I would be hesitant to say I know you otherwise.. Ha Ha Ha Ha.. Late

Subject: Re: Track bar question
I used to own a YJ up until 2 years ago. You really don't need the rear trackbar on a YJ since the leafsprings do a good job of locating the axle side to side. I'd recommend removing it. You won't notice it on the road, but you will definitely notice the added flex offroad. Many also remove the front trackbar as well, though you will want to be sure to reconnect the front swaybar for onroad use. I had a telescoping trackbar on the front of my YJ and felt it was a waste of money. If I still had a YJ I'd just remove both trackbars and use the swaybar onroad. If it feels to squirelly for your taste put the front one back on.

18393 From: Roger Tomas <tomasr@a...>
Date: Wed Feb 7, 2001 5:09am
Subject: Re: Track bar question
The track bars are normally supposed to keep the axles underneath the
vehicle. Since they do move in an arc (with respect to the frame), they
do cause the vehicle and axles to move in opposite situations under
suspension compression or droop. But I would think that in anything
but an extreme articulation situation, you'd be hard pressed to actually
feel it.
In stock form, track bars are mostly parallel with the axles. When you
add a lift, you increase the angle between the track bars and axles.
This causes the axle to become un-centered under the vehicle. It also
contributes to a rougher ride since bumps translate into lateral forces
on the frame in addition to just upward forces on the leaf springs.
The relocation brackets for the track bars attempt restore the
"parallel-ness" of the track bars with respect to the axles.
If you're really feeling the body shift, maybe you check for some other
problem?
Hope this helps.

I often receive replies before the original posts. At least that's what
appears to be the case. In actuality, I think it is caused by the fact
that my email software is configured to display new mail sorted by date
sent. Since the date sent is determined by the sender's computer, and
since not all club members have their computer's system clock set to the
exact same time, they are displayed to me out of sequence.

I exploded the license plate views -- they were wiped out -- guess they
don't want to advertise who they are. Maybe we'll have better luck next

Hey Brian, are you total dedicated to an onboard
compressor? If not, you should check out a Co2 tank,
very powerful, they can air up tires, and run tools.

(93YJ
